The Chalmers University was founded in 1829 and became an independent foundation in 1994. It now has a total of 8,000 undergraduates and 2,300 faculty, post-graduate students, and technical and administrative staff. The Dept. of Thermo and Fluid Dynamics conducts research within the fields of thermal transmission and computational fluid dynamics especially in Diesel Engines.
